Cover Story....
"....Gigging isn't all fun....."
We decided it may be an insight for some people to see that it's not all easy peasy,
fun-filled enjoyment, playing your favourite songs for a couple of hours in front of
a (largely....) appreciative audience.
Our cry goes out at the end of each gig night, as you guys are making your way home,
'wish we had a roadie' or 'we're getting too old for this' - real rock'n'roll eh?

The 'action' usually starts as you're donning your best denims and flowery shirt.
The Band arrives at each gig around 6:00pm when the slog begins.
We each use our cars to transport:
- Guy's 12 piece drum kit
- two huge speakers
- a gigantic bass cabinet
- 3 floor monitors
- Rich's fair sized bass rig
- 2 lighting rigs
- mixing desk
- various guitars + cases + lead bags etc
Now we realise it's not exactly Status Quo size, but, rest assured it's all
pretty darned heavy.
We've got 'set up' off to a fine art by now. Usually within an hour we're ready
to soundcheck. This in itself isn't always easy when there's a giant football
screen in front of us with some irate TV watchers intent on not missing the action!!!
If everything's to plan, we're completed by 7:30 (..ish) and ready to
chill out for an hour or so. Then comes the difficult bit.....

Performing is lot more hard work than it appears. Concentration levels have to
be 100% minimum. Always on the ready for Joe deciding to change the structure of a
song mid-flight.....
Despite the sweat and toil, we're all in agreement, that the 2 hours or so performing,
is more or less unbeatable. A huge adrennalin kick but extremely wearing.
By 11:00, we're absolutely knackered. The prospect of packing everything away again
is daunting but the high we're on carries us along and the usual cry is...
'Bring on the next gig'
So, if you fancy being a roadie, give us a ring.......
